EV Classics Ltd ("EV Classics", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit ev-classics.uk or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have in relation to it.
We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website. If you have any questions, contact us at welcome@evclassicsltd.com.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide. When you complete our contact form or otherwise correspond with us, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if supplied), and the contents of your message.
- Technical information. We collect basic information your browser sends, such as IP address, device type, browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit on our site.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See section 4 below.
2. How we use your information and our lawful basis
Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each purpose for which we use your data. Our purposes and bases are:
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Responding to enquiries about conversions, vehicle hire, and partnerships. | Pre-contract steps at your request (Article 6(1)(b)). |
| Operating, maintaining and securing our website (essential cookies, server logs, anti-abuse). | Legitimate interests in running a safe, working website (Article 6(1)(f)). |
| Sending you service-related communications you have requested. | Your consent or performance of contract (Article 6(1)(a) / (b)). |
| Optional analytics cookies to understand site usage. | Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given via our cookie banner. |
| Complying with legal, accounting and tax obligations. | Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). |
We do not make decisions about you based on automated processing alone, and we do not use your data for profiling.
3. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our website and business (for example, email and hosting providers), and where we are legally required to do so. Any such providers are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries to make this site work and to understand how it is used. They fall into two categories: essential (always on) and optional analytics (only set if you accept them).
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| evc-cookie-consent | EV Classics (this site) | Remembers your cookie preference so we don't ask again on every visit. | Until you clear it | Essential |
| _ga / _ga_* | Google Analytics (if enabled) | Aggregated, anonymised analytics about site usage. | Up to 13 months | Optional analytics |
We will only set optional cookies if you accept them on the banner. You can change your mind at any time:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect how the site behaves.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep different categories of data for different lengths of time, in line with the principle of storage limitation:
- Enquiry correspondence (name, email, message): up to 24 months from your last contact, in case you get back in touch.
- Contract and customer records (where you go on to engage us for a conversion or hire): for the duration of the engagement and 6 years afterwards, to meet UK contract-law and tax-record requirements.
- Server access logs: typically 30 days, for security, abuse-prevention and troubleshooting.
- Cookie consent record: stored in your browser until you clear it, so we can remember your preference.
At the end of the retention period we delete or anonymise the data. We will keep data longer where we are legally required to do so.
6. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data.
- Ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances.
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data.
- Withdraw any consent you have given us.
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
To exercise any of these rights, email welcome@evclassicsltd.com.
7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers (for example, our transactional email provider) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens we rely on the appropriate UK GDPR safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy regulation made by the UK government — to make sure your data is given an essentially equivalent level of protection.
9. Data controller and how to reach us
The data controller for personal data processed through this website is EV Classics Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 13773089).
