This accessibility statement applies to www.ev-classics.uk. The website is run by EV Classics Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it.
You should be able to:
- navigate the whole site using only a keyboard;
- use screen-reader software to read every page;
- zoom in up to 200% without text spilling off the screen;
- read text comfortably, with sufficient contrast between text and background;
- understand the meaning of images via descriptive alternative text.
We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard. The non-compliances are listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- Third-party Instagram embeds. Some pages embed a video reel from Instagram. The embedded player is provided by Instagram and we cannot control its keyboard or screen-reader behaviour, so it may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA Success Criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard) or 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). We provide a direct link to view the reel on Instagram as a non-embedded alternative.
- Decorative background gradients. A small number of background images are decorative and are not announced to assistive technology. This is intentional, but means visual context is not conveyed to screen-reader users.
Disproportionate burden
We have not claimed disproportionate burden for any content on this site.
Content not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Third-party content embedded from Instagram is not within our direct control. We will continue to monitor it and offer non-embedded alternatives where possible.
What we're doing to improve accessibility
We review accessibility as part of every change we make to the site. Where we identify a barrier, we plan a fix into our next release. We aim to honour the prefers-reduced-motion setting in all decorative animation, and to keep alternative text up to date as imagery changes.
Reporting accessibility problems
If you find anything that is difficult to use, please tell us. We treat accessibility feedback as a priority.
Email us at welcome@evclassicsltd.com and, where you can, include the page address, what you were trying to do, and what went wrong. We aim to respond within 10 working days.
Enforcement procedure
If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
